Quick Takeaways

Wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud may have only had one catch for 33 yards and taken just seven offensive snaps in the game, but it was good enough to earn the highest Pro Football Focus offensive grade for either team. That likely would have leveled off with a larger sample size, though.

Fred Warner earned the highest grade of the game and the linebacker's highest grade of the season. His coverage grade of 84.7 was his highest since the NFC Divisional Playoff Game against the Green Bay Packers last season (92.7). Warner allowed just two receptions for 15 yards in four passes tossed his way.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo finds himself among the top five highest-graded offensive 49ers players for the second consecutive game. His 76.9 overall grade is his best since Week 4 (87.5 vs. Rams). Garoppolo finished the game 19-of-28 for 240 yards. He also had five carries for three yards and a touchdown—his second rushing touchdown of the season and the seventh of his career.

In his first action since Week 1, Elijah Mitchell led all running backs in the game with an 83.7 overall grade and 89 yards rushing.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings had some key receptions to keep drives alive. He finished the game with four catches for 40 yards, earning a career-high overall grade.

Right tackle Mike McGlinchey just missed the top five offensive 49ers players. His 75.3 overall grade was his second-highest of the season (81.2 - Week 6).

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk hauled in a team-leading six receptions for 84 yards on seven targets. But his lost fumble earned him his lowest overall grade (66.9) since Week 4 (66.2). However, Sunday was Aiyuk's fourth consecutive game with 81-or-more reception yards.

Defensive end Nick Bosa earned his third-highest grade of the season (91.6 - Week 4, 89.6 - Week 2) while collecting a sack against Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. His nine total pressures led the defense. Bosa now has 9.5 sacks this season and 34 over his career. He has recorded one-or-more sacks in seven of his eight games played this season.

Safety Talanoa Hufanga, who had an interception late in the game to seal the win for the Niners, earned his highest grade since Week 4 (78.4). However, Pro Football Focus credited him with a touchdown surrender, lowering his coverage grade to 69.4.
