According to ESPN's Nick Wagoner, per third-party ticket seller Vivid Seats, 49ers fans are expected to make up about 82 percent of the crowd on Monday night.
Wagoner added: "Not surprising but still a whopping number."
It's not surprising because 49ers fans taking over opposing stadiums has become a regular occurrence over the last few years. A sea of red and gold fills the stands at SoFi Stadium whenever the Niners travel south to play the Los Angeles Rams. But the 49ers fan takeovers are not limited to the team's Southern California rival. Look at Bank of America Stadium as the Carolina Panthers hosted the 49ers in Week 5.
This morning on KNBR, head coach Kyle Shanahan was told that 49ers fans will likely take over the Mexico City venue.
"That's what I'm hoping for," Shanahan responded. "We're both red, so we'll find out the truth when the cheering [begins]. ... That's my gut also, so I'm hoping for it."
San Francisco is currently an eight-point favorite in Monday night's game. However, that could move further in the 49ers' favor depending on the status of the Cardinals' quarterbacks. Kyler Murray is dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out this past weekend against the Los Angeles Rams, while McCoy is working through a knee injury suffered in that game. Both are considered day-to-day.
