Moments later, Samuel re-emerged and joined his teammates on the practice field, forcing several tweet corrections from the media on hand.
Samuel is dealing with a quad injury. The 49ers hope to have him available for Sunday's clash at Levi's Stadium with the Miami Dolphins. On Friday morning, head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if the wideout might be a game-time decision.
"So far, it is," Shanahan responded on KNBR. "He's got to do something today for it to be a chance to be a game-time decision."
While Samuel's return to the practice field is good news for the 49ers, Trent Williams exiting practice is bad news. The veteran left tackle headed to the locker room after warmups because of back issues.
If Williams cannot play, Colton McKivitz would be the likely player to step into the starting left tackle spot for Sunday's game.
The 49ers will release their official game status and practice participation reports soon.
