Despite losing his exhibition boxing match to former NBA point guard Deron Williams, Gore beat Olaseyinde Olorunsola in his first professional boxing debut with a fourth-round knockout on May 14.
"I will say I wish I was able to win (against Williams)," Gore said. "I think he was more prepared than I was, but I know if we fought again, I would get him."
Gore said he wasn't surprised when he beat Olorunsola because he was better prepared for that bout.
"When I first got in the ring, I didn't understand the fighting game," Gore said. "I didn't know it was more than just hit-and-miss. The second time I sparred and ran like a fighter, and it showed."
After the weigh-in, Gore signed autographs at Rod Dogs, where many 49er Faithful were excited to meet him.
During the meet-and-greet, Gore was seen dancing and enjoying the atmosphere at the San Antonio bar.
In a December 2 interview, Niner Empire San Antonio Chapter President Josselyn Martinez said, "It feels good, baby" to have Gore meet and greet fans.
"This is so amazing," Martinez said. "I cannot believe we have Frank Gore at our bar tomorrow. I can't believe it."
After meeting his fans, Gore went to the Alamodome to watch the Conference USA Championship game between the University of North Texas (UNT) and the University of San Antonio (UTSA).
Despite finishing his career third on the all-time rushing list, Gore doesn't regret not passing Walter Payton's (No. 2 all-time) rushing total because of his love of football.
"I am blessed, man. I am blessed, " Gore said. " What I have been through in my career to get to the NFL, that is hard to do. "Two ACLs, still being able to reach a childhood dream and play 16 years plus, that is great."
The 49er Faithful sat in a VIP section at the boxing match to support Gore's defeat of Romero at San Antonio's Freeman Coliseum.

Sports has been my first love since I was 12 years old. At one point I wanted to play football professionally. I started to take photography as a hobby in my teenage years but this was when I followed sports. I started to listen to sports radio, I found my true calling and it was to be a sports talk show host. Though I follow football and basketball, I started to have a new love of cultures around the world. After graduating from San Antonio College in 2018, I worked for the Castroville News Bulletin before going to A&M San Antonio to get my communications degree. Since I have written for the Ranger of San Antonio College, the News Bulletin and the Mesquite of Texas A&M San Antonio, I met many people and went to a lot of events. My major milestone was being in the press box of the San Antonio Commanders game for the Mesquite and being apart of a press conference with the Medina County Sheriff and other local news outlets. When I am not doing anything, I like to watch old cartoons on the DC Universe, play video games such as Mega Man and the Mass Effect series. I have also created Youtube channel called "Anger Management" with my friend Aaron Donnell.
