Deebo Samuel, who injured his ankle in the second quarter and did not return, and Brock Purdy, who suffered a left oblique injury during the game, have no updates currently, as the MRI process is still ongoing.
As for Purdy's injury, Shanahan believes it occurred on San Francisco's second drive when Purdy scrambled and dove for a first down, but the play was brought back from a holding penalty.
"I think it was a challenge for him, just talking to him and seeing him after the game," Shanahan said of his rookie quarterback. "I think he really toughed it out and did some real good things with it, and I know he's sore today. Hopefully, the MRI will be good, and it will give him a chance to play Thursday."
Shanahan said the 49ers have ruled out rookie cornerback Samuel Womack for Thursday night's game against the Seattle Seahawks. He remains in concussion protocol after leaving Sunday's game against the Buccaneers in the third quarter.
The 49ers suffered two different injuries to their defensive line, as Kerry Hyder sustained an ankle injury in the fourth quarter, while Kevin Givens went down with a knee injury on the third snap of the game and did not return.
While Shanahan is optimistic about Hyder's availability, he hopes that Givens only suffered an MCL sprain, which would place him out for a few weeks.
"I feel optimistic about Kerry, just talking to him after the game and everything," Shanahan said of Hyder. "I believe if the score was different, he would have been able to go back in. So I do think that's a good sign. But I expect Kevin [Givens] to be a little bit [of time]. Hoping it's just an MCL, but obviously, we've got to wait and see."
Shanahan also doesn't have an update on safety Dontae Johnson, who suffered a knee injury on special teams in the second quarter and missed the remainder of the game.
Stay tuned for injury updates throughout the week!
