Purdy completed 110 of 161 passes (68.3 percent) over the season's final six weeks for 1,308 yards and 13 touchdowns with a 112 rating, the highest in the NFL since Week 13, and added a rushing touchdown.
He is the third rookie quarterback ever to win each of his first five career starts joining Ben Roethlisberger (won first 13 starts in 2004) and Mike Kruczek (first six in 1976) and is the second rookie in NFL history with at least two touchdown passes in six consecutive games (Justin Herbert, seven consecutive games in 2020).
Purdy becomes the first-ever 49er to win Offensive Rookie of the Month honors and is the first quarterback to win the award this season.
He is the first former Iowa State player to win a Rookie of the Month award.
McCaffrey totaled 27 receptions with a league-high 767 scrimmage yards (505 rushing, 262 receiving) and seven touchdowns (four rushing, three receiving), the most among NFC players, during the final six weeks of the season. He had four games with at least 135 scrimmage yards and recorded a touchdown in each of the six games from Weeks 13-18.
This is the second Offensive Player of the Month award for McCaffrey, also having won with Carolina in September of the 2019 season. He becomes the first San Francisco running back to earn the honor.
He is one of three former Stanford Cardinal players to win Offensive Player of the Month, along with Andrew Luck (two-time winner) and Pro Football Hall of Famer John Elway (two-time winner).
