The San Francisco 49ers return to the NFC Championship Game for the second-consecutive season and the third time in the last four seasons as they go on the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. This matchup marks the second postseason meeting all-time between the two teams, with the Niners beating the Eagles 14-0 on December 29, 1996, in the NFC Wild Card Round.

Previous game

The 49ers enter the NFC Championship after a 19-12 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Divisional Round. K Robbie Gould remained perfect in his postseason career, as he connected on his four field goal attempts from 26, 28, 47, and 50 yards. Offensively, QB Brock Purdy completed 19 of his 29 passing attempts for 214 yards, TE George Kittle caught all five of his targets for a team-high 95 yards, and RB Christian McCaffrey scored the lone 49ers touchdown with a one-yard rush. RB Elijah Mitchell led the team in rushing, registering 51 yards on 14 attempts.

On defense, DB Deommodore Lenoir intercepted Cowboys QB Dak Prescott once, giving him his second-consecutive postseason game with an interception. LB Fred Warner also intercepted Prescott once and registered a team-leading nine tackles. DL Samson Ebukam registered his third-career postseason sack and blocked a PAT by Cowboys K Brett Maher, giving him the first blocked PAT by a member of the 49ers in franchise postseason history.
