While Levi's Stadium crowds have been impressive this season, there are certain venues famous for their loud, passionate fans. Lincoln Financial Field is one of them. One 49ers player didn't sound too concerned about the Philadelphia home crowd.
"We know it's going to be loud," wide receiver Deebo Samuel told reporters on Wednesday, "but no stadium is as loud as ours at the end of the day. They're at home, NFC Championship. They're going to be all riled up. We don't really too much feed into all that because we put the pads on and just go to work."
It's good that Brock Purdy had an opportunity to play in another loud road environment—at Lumen Field against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. That should better prepare him for the noise during this weekend's elimination game.
"We'll do the same thing we did that week," head coach Kyle Shanahan said of preparing Purdy for Lincoln Financial Field. "That was huge because that was our first game, really all year, that it was that important, and Brock kind of had experience with it. So it was great to have that, especially with us going to Philly.
"I remember us talking about that, that week, that we needed that. We needed that [experience] in case we ended up in the NFC Championship at Philly, and we got that. And I'm very fortunate that we did, and I feel we're good to go."
The 49ers will crank up the pumped-in noise during practice this week, as they did leading to that Seahawks game on a short week.
"He knows what to expect. He knows how we do it," Shanahan said of Purdy. "And we'll give him reps at it all week, but he got it ready on just a Wednesday when he played Thursday (against Seattle), so it won't be an issue this week."
