"[Purdy is] fantastic," Kittle said on Von Miller's podcast. "Our offense was operating at the highest it's probably been since 2019. So, in my opinion, it's Brock's job to lose. "
On Friday, Purdy joined NFL Network's Super Bowl Live. He was asked about Kittle's comments. The quarterback took the opportunity to discuss his and his teammate's dedication to winning a championship.
"Yeah, someone shot it to me and my family," Purdy said of Kittle's comment. "I mean, I love George. I love his mindset and everything. For me, I'm going to focus on my rehab first, get my arm right, go from there. And Trey's obviously getting healthy too."
Purdy will be sidelined for about six months, missing most of the offseason. He is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the tear of the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow, an injury sustained in the NFC Championship Game.
As Purdy explained before, there is a chance he might require a lengthier recovery time.
"There's this backup plan of having a hybrid surgery, which means a little bit of the graft, and then an internal brace, which can be anywhere from seven to nine months," Purdy explained.
Lance is returning from the season-ending ankle injury he suffered during Week 2. The quarterback expects to be full-go for organized team activities (OTAs) in May.
Purdy added, "We both want to win. We both want to bring a Super Bowl back to San Francisco, and we're going to do whatever it takes."
