According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, the San Francisco 49ers were among several NFL teams to hold a standout meeting with Utah linebacker Mohamoud Diabate at the East-West Shrine Bowl earlier this month. Other teams include the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Chargers, and New York Jets, per the report.

49ers linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, a standout defender for the 49ers, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next month. Melo notes that Diabate can play multiple positions, and San Francisco values versatility.

Diabate started 12 games for Utah in 2022 after transferring from Florida. He accrued 58 tackles, a team-leading 13.5 tackles for a loss, five sacks, a pass defensed, and a forced fumble for the Utes.

Diabate racked up a career-high 89 tackles at Florida in 2021. He registered 228 tackles, 24 tackles for a loss, 10.5 sacks, an interception, two passes defensed, and four forced fumbles through his four collegiate seasons.
