According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, the San Francisco 49ers are re-signing defensive tackle Kevin Givens to a one-year, $2.1 million deal with $2 million guaranteed. Givens was scheduled to become a restricted free agent.

It's an under-the-radar move with Monday's big Bay Area storyline being the 49ers signing former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to a four-year, $84 million deal.

San Francisco signed Givens (6-1, 285) as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State in 2019. He registered 20 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, and a pass defensed through 13 game appearances (11 starts) with the 49ers last season, per Pro Football Reference.

Givens, 26, has recorded 51 tackles, three sacks, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble in 40 game appearances (12 starts) through his four NFL seasons.
