Prior to the on-field battle, however, it seems that the off-the-field battle has been solved... in the form of Madden ratings.
EA Sports's Madden 24 revealed the quarterback ratings for all players at the position earlier this week, including all three of the 49ers' top quarterbacks.
Brock Purdy came in at a 73 overall, which ranked 25th amongst quarterbacks, while Sam Darnold and Trey Lance both came in at a 71 overall, good for 31st at the position.
At a 73 overall, Purdy was ranked behind the likes of Daniel Jones, Matthew Stafford, Bryce Young, and Mac Jones, who filled the 21st-24th spots, respectively.
In his first year with the 49ers, Purdy threw for 1,374 yards and a 13:4 touchdown-to-interception ratio, while completing 67.1% of his passes through nine games, of which five were starts.
Were the 49ers' quarterbacks' ratings disrespectful?
