Two San Francisco 49ers defenders made their NFL Top 100 debuts. Safety Talanoa Hufanga came in at No. 78 on this year's list, while linebacker Dre Greenlaw landed at No. 79.

Hufanga and Greenlaw are the first 49ers players revealed to be on this year's list. With San Francisco owning one of the most talented rosters in the league, there will undoubtedly be more as the ranking is revealed through Monday, August 7.

Being named to the NFL Top 100 is considered an honor because players around the league vote on it. It is based on player performance during the previous year and predicted performance during the upcoming season. This year's ranking is the league's 13th.

Hufanga is coming off his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro season. San Francisco made the safety (6-0, 200) a fifth-round selection (No. 180 overall) out of USC in 2021. He registered 97 tackles, five tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, two sacks, nine passes defensed, four interceptions, and a touchdown through 17 starts last season, per Pro Football Reference.

The 49ers made Greenlaw (6-0, 227) a fifth-round selection (No. 148 overall) out of Arkansas in 2019. While he didn't earn any league honors in 2022, the linebacker is coming off his best NFL season, recording 127 tackles, three tackles for a loss, six passes defensed, an interception, and two forced fumbles through 15 starts, per Pro Football Reference.
