WATCH: 49ers' Brock Purdy has best performance yet on Day 6 of training camp

Day 6 of the San Francisco 49ers training camp is officially over, as it was a lighter practice following a scrimmage-heavy day on Monday, with the team following a balanced approach with the pass and run game.

The offense and defense each had their moments, with quarterback Brock Purdy having his best practice following Trey Lance's strong performance on Monday, while the defense accumulated eight sacks on the day, the most of training camp so far.

Tackling time

For the second day in a row, the 49ers' defensive backs practiced different variations of tackling drills, with pads finally on.




Deep ball

Quarterback Trey Lance was filmed working on his deep passing skills after a lighter practice Tuesday by The Athletic's David Lombardi.


Blocking

The 49ers' tight ends and offensive linemen worked on their run-game blocking skills in a specific drill instructed by offensive line coach Chris Foerster, via The Athletic's David Lombardi.

Play-action passing

Quarterbacks coach Brian Griese conducted a passing drill that involved simulating through play-action passes, where the quarterbacks practiced a variety of throws, including deep shots.

Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks was very hands-on today, taking Charvarius Ward and Deommodore Lenoir aside, and coaching them up during individual drills.
