The San Francisco 49ers are taking on the Las Vegas Raiders in their first preseason action on Sunday, marking the first time that the team will take the field in a game setting since their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.

Prior to the preseason bout, the 49ers and Raiders held a pair of joint practices on Thursday and Friday, and are expected to start Trey Lance at quarterback with Sam Darnold playing the second half, as starter Brock Purdy will not play.

Javon Kinlaw leading out

First Half

1st Quarter

The 49ers will start with the ball in their hands, meaning Trey Lance will get the first opportunity on offense.

Not a single starter is playing for the 49ers on offense it seems, as their entire backup offensive line gets the start on Sunday.

Not a great start for the 49ers offense, as quarterback Trey Lance is sacked twice on three dropbacks, resulting in a quick three-and-out.

It's a bad start for the 49ers on both ends, as the defense gets gashed for a touchdown drive, with the Raiders offense dominating down the field.

The ugly offensive outing continues, as Lance has been pressured on nearly every single dropback, getting sacked for a third time during the game. It's been three 3-and-outs thus far for the 49ers.

END OF QUARTER: The 49ers struggled heavily in the first quarter of action, with the offensive line not holding up well and Trey Lance looking a bit uncomfortable in the pocket. Defensively, the 49ers have struggled to defend the run, while getting diced up over the middle in the passing game.

2nd Quarter

The 49ers offense might be catching a break. The defense gets a stop on downs, giving the 49ers the ball back. The defensive line, specifically Kevin Givens, continues to struggle though.

The scoring has commenced for the 49ers! On a crazy play, Lance nearly throws an interception to cornerback Duke Shelley, but Ross Dwelley catches the tip for a touchdown, making it 7-7.

A downfield pass! Trey Lance connects with Chris Conley on a 17-yard pass over the middle to convert a 3rd & 15 on his best ball of the day.

The 49ers had momentum, but a Jordan Mason run is stuffed on fourth down by former 49er Jordan Willis, as the tight end failed to block the incoming edge.

2-Minute Warning: The Raiders are approaching the redzone, facing a 2nd & 6 at the SF 40 at the 2-minute warning.

SCORE: Aidan O'Connell hits Keelan Cole for a 9-yard touchdown on an out route, with Isaiah Oliver in coverage.

The 49ers offense drives down the field, although it comes off a series of interesting plays, as Trey Lance was nearly intercepted again, while San Francisco benefitted from a controversial penalty and a non-call on a Chris Conley push off.

But, it doesn't matter because kicker Jake Moody misses a 40-yard field goal wide. That's the half.
