However, all hasn't been awful for the 49ers, as several players have stood out, despite the poor outing from the team in the first half.
Whose stock is up and down through 30 minutes of action between the 49ers and Raiders?
Stock Up
CB Ambry Thomas
Heading into the game, Thomas's name wasn't one that I was expecting to place on the list, given his inconsistent training camp, but the cornerback has started strong, breaking up two passes in coverage, while making a tough fourth-down run stop to force a turnover.
Thomas did whiff on a different run block, but it's been a good start to the first preseason game for the cornerback.
WR Ronnie Bell
Ronnie Bell has earned one touch on offense thus far, taking an end around for 15 yards, while fighting through some contact after reaching a first down.
But, the more important side of Bell's contributions has been in the return game; Bell hasn't looked flustered thus far, and has shouldered some hits on punt returns, sharing some optimism for the regular season.
Still, results are important, and that's what still has to come for the rookie in the return game.
RB Tyrion Davis-Price
There hasn't been too much action for the 49ers offensively, who started the day with three consecutive 3-and-outs before the offense started to gain some traction.
While Jordan Mason hasn't seen many big plays, Davis-Price has started well with a few runs, earning 14 yards on three carries. It's been a good start for the running back, who continues to pass the eye test.
DE Clelin Ferrell
Clelin Ferrell had an interesting training camp, starting off slow before coming together over the last few days, and that has carried into the preseason bout against his former team.
Ferrell had a nice run stop on the day, as well as a sack, and arguably could be the top edge on the roster behind Nick Bosa come Week 1.
LB Curtis Robinson
Robinson has been a solid tackler when on the field Sunday, recording three tackles so far without missing an opportunity.
While it may not be anything significant, Robinson was someone who caught my eye with his tackling, as the special-teams ace has seen a nice start so far.
Stock down
QB Trey Lance
If you're box score watching, it may not seem like a bad performance from Trey Lance, who hit 10/15 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown in the first half.
However, Lance had a few ugly plays, nearly getting intercepted twice, with one resulting in the lone touchdown off a bobble from the defender, and didn't seem comfortable in the pocket early, although you could attribute that to the offensive line(more on them soon).
Lance missed a few throws he should've hit, with the inaccuracies and inconsistencies plaguing his performance.
While he hit a few solid throws, it was not a great day for Lance, whose stock is trending down after earning the start over Sam Darnold.
Offensive Line
The offensive line was porous in the first half, and there are serious concerns about the team's depth at offensive line, although that argument could be made for a majority of teams around the NFL.
The 49ers gave up four sacks and nine pressures on 15 dropbacks from Trey Lance, and the inconsistency clearly flustered the quarterback, leading to a number of early three-and-outs.
San Francisco needs at least a few players to emerge from this unit as somewhat trustworthy options for the season, but that's still being worked out.
DL Kevin Givens/Javon Kinlaw
One of the bigger issues for the 49ers defense was the run defense, as the ground game consistently got to the second level.
At the forefront of the action? Kevin Givens and Javon Kinlaw, who were just outmatched on the ground by the Raiders offensive line.
Givens has been a solid pass rusher, and Kinlaw looked fresher during training camp, but both need to be much better on the ground to warrant playing time.
CB Isaiah Oliver
Oliver was the lone starter to suit up for the 49ers, and didn't have the best start in his debut with the team.
In the first half, Oliver gave up two catches, including the touchdown to Keelan Cole at the end of the half in off coverage. Not the best start for him.
