The San Francisco 49ers are facing off against the Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off their 2023 NFL Season, with kickoff slated for 10 A.M. PT at Acrisure Stadium.

Here's the latest ahead of the 49ers' matchup later this afternoon.

Pregame

Inactives

The San Francisco 49ers released their seven inactives for the game, with their two questionable players, tight end George Kittle and cornerback Charvarius Ward, slated to play after facing injuries this week.

Money Moody

The first player on the field: kicker Jake Moody, who was cleared to play earlier this week after battling an injury that cost him the team's third preseason game.

As a result, the 49ers released practice squad kicker Matthew Wright ahead of the game, who was signed as insurance if Moody couldn't go.

Bosa and a legend

Defensive end Nick Bosa was seen chopping it up with Steelers legend Ryan Shazier prior to kickoff.

Juice on punt return?

Matt Maiocco reports that fullback Kyle Juzczyk is out returning punts, a potential possibility for the 49ers as a veteran with reliable hands, although Ray-Ray McCloud was also cleared from his wrist injury to play.

Boombox is back

Adam Schefter reports the 49ers have found their new boombox guy, as assistant equipment manager Rob Lloyd will be the boombox carrier today.

It had previously been Nick Kray, who went with DeMeco Ryans to Houston as their new Chief of Staff.
