Christian McCaffrey is racking up the awards. For the third time in four weeks, the San Francisco 49ers running back has been named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week, an award he won after Weeks 1 and 2.

McCaffrey's Week 4 FedEx Ground Player of the Week victory puts him in elite company, joining Derrick Henry, DeMarco Murray, LaDainian Tomlinson, Clinton Portis, and Doug Martin as the only players to win the award in three out of four weeks at any point in the season. He is also making history with the greatest start to a season in the 21 years of the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award, becoming the first player to win the award in three out of the season's first four weeks.

The 49ers are coming off a Week 4 win over the Arizona Cardinals, beating the NFC West rival 35-16. McCaffrey rushed for 106 yards on 20 carries (5.3-yard average), adding three rushing touchdowns against the Cardinals. He also had seven receptions for 71 yards and a receiving touchdown, amassing an impressive 177 all-purpose yards and four total touchdowns in the game.

McCaffrey beat out Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry and Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery for the award.

FedEx gives fans the opportunity to recognize weekly top-performing quarterbacks and running backs in games played on Thursday through Sunday through the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards.

By winning the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week Award, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation in McCaffrey's name to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), which will be applied towards needs-based scholarships to deserving HBCU students.
