Deshaun Watson, sidelined by a bruised shoulder, was absent from Monday's practice after missing Week 4, a 28-3 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.
"He's doing everything in his power, working around the clock with rehab," Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Monday. "So, he's just doing what he's being told to do in terms of his rehab process."
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Stefanski emphasized the importance of Watson being "functionally ready" before returning to the field. Watson's status is currently considered day-to-day.
In Watson's absence, rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson assumed the starting quarterback role against the Ravens, managing 121 passing yards while throwing three interceptions.
The 49ers are coming off a resounding 42-10 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. The team will start practicing for the Browns on Wednesday.
