T Trent Williams (ankle, questionable)
Trent Williams went down late in the first quarter after Browns defensive tackle Shelby Harris rolled up on his right ankle. The offensive lineman was able to walk to the sideline but did so with a noticeable limp.
The 49ers announced Williams as questionable to return, but he re-entered the game during the team's next offensive series.
WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder, out)
The 49ers training staff examined Deebo Samuel on the sideline late in the first quarter. The team announced that the wide receiver is questionable to return due to a shoulder injury. Samuel later left the field, heading to the locker room for further evaluation.
Update: Samuel had been ruled out of this game. Pro Football Talk reported that the X-rays on the receiver's shoulder were negative. He will still undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.
RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique/rib, out)
Christian McCaffrey has been working through an oblique injury on the sideline during the third quarter. He is questionable to return to the game. Elijah Mitchell replaced him at running back.
Update: McCaffrey briefly re-entered the game late in the third quarter but returned to the sideline after one play. He later left for the locker room. The 49ers later ruled McCaffrey out for the remainder of the game. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan clarified that McCaffrey is dealing with an oblique/rib injury.
