The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 8 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The most significant news coming out of Santa Clara on Wednesday revolved around the status of the team's quarterback. Brock Purdy suffered a concussion during Monday night's clash with the Minnesota Vikings, placing him in the NFL concussion protocol. He must be fully cleared by an independent evaluator before retaking the field, casting doubt on his availability for Week 8.

Tackle Trent Williams also did not practice. Although, the team hopes to have the offensive lineman back on Thursday.

Deebo Samuel has already been ruled out against the Bengals, with the 49ers optimistic the wide receiver can return against the Jacksonville Jaguars after the bye week.

The good news is that Christian McCaffrey's slightly torn oblique didn't worsen in Monday night's game. The running back was full go during Wednesday's practice.

Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Bengals, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
