"I would love to play with him one day," the older McCaffrey told reporters in the 49ers' locker room after Thursday's practice. "That would be the coolest thing ever. So I'm excited for him and his journey, and he's only going to get better."
Luke, listed at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, recorded 68 receptions for 963 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, averaging 14.2 yards per catch.
"Yeah, I've watched every snap of every game," Christian said. "It's been so cool to watch him. I love watching him more than anything I do. That's like my favorite thing on the planet."
Luke is a converted quarterback. The Rice wideout earned first-team All-AAC honors this season.
Christian offered a thorough scouting report on his brother, stating, "If I'm a scout, he's got every tool you need. He's fast, he's big, he's strong. He can play any position. [49ers RB coach] Bobby Turner always talks about the greatest compliment you can give someone is that they're a football player, and that's exactly what he is. Look at how many SportsCenter top catches or whatever he had."
Obviously, the prospect of having the McCaffrey brothers on the field together is a source of great excitement for the 49ers running back.
