The San Francisco 49ers' versatile wide receiver, Deebo Samuel, etched his name into the NFL record books by scoring a rushing touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Samuel entered the Week 14 matchup with 18 career rushing touchdowns in the regular season, tied with Hall of Fame wide receiver Bobby Mitchell for the most by a receiver since at least 1960.

In the third quarter, Samuel surpassed Mitchell, securing his 19th career rushing score. He did so on a one-yard run, helping the 49ers take a 21-10 lead. It was Samuel's second touchdown of the game. He recorded a receiving touchdown in the second quarter.


Heading into the matchup against the Seahawks, Samuel had accumulated 942 career rushing yards on 152 carries. One hundred and sixty of those yards and four rushing touchdowns have come this season, Samuel's fifth in the NFL.
