The San Francisco 49ers have announced that defensive tackle Kalia Davis has been placed on injured reserve. Davis sustained a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals.

San Francisco drafted Davis (6-2, 310) in the sixth round (No. 220 overall) from UCF last year. He has recorded a tackle, a tackle for a loss, a quarterback hit, and a sack in three game appearances this season, per Pro Football Reference.

Davis, 25, didn't play during his rookie season after landing on the reserve/non-football injury list on August 23, 2022. The defensive lineman was inactive for the 49ers' first 11 games this season.

This serves as another blow to the 49ers' defensive front, which was already without starters Javon Hargrave and Arik Armstead this past weekend. The team is gearing up for a pivotal Christmas night matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
