On defense, many fans were upset with defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, but they must bear in mind the Rams came out with a zone-read heavy offense—something they haven't utilized in McVay's time with the team. It felt like they wanted to plaster the film with something they installed that week to create more work for the Detroit Lions, as it's something they now have to prepare for.
