Linebacker Dre Greenlaw returned to practice after being sidelined by Achilles tendinitis. He was a late scratch from the 49ers' regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Kyle Shanahan informed reporters on Tuesday that Greenlaw would return for the Wednesday session, saying, "We just pushed him hard yesterday, so we want to take a day off before we push him again."
Safety Logan Ryan also returned to practice. The 49ers are optimistic that Greenlaw and Ryan will be ready for this weekend's playoff game.
Safety George Odum, placed on injured reserve on November 27 due to a torn biceps, shed his blue no-contact jersey, signaling a potential return to action. The 49ers will need to make a roster move ahead of Saturday's game to add Odum to the active roster.
Defensive tackle Arik Armstead continues to practice. He was a full participant on Wednesday.
When asked if Armstead would play in Saturday's playoff game, general manager John Lynch stated, "Yeah, it's looking like that. He's had really good practices here in the last week before we went on our little weekend getaway. And then, coming back here today, he was out there in a limited fashion and did really well. So Arik, that would be a big boost for us. We're a better team when he's out there."
Defensive end Clelin Ferrell continues to miss practice with a knee injury. He is not expected to play against the Packers.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Packers, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
