This past Saturday, the 49ers advanced to the NFC Championship Game for the third straight time and the fourth time in five years. While the game wasn't always pretty, and it took a phenomenal game-winning drive by quarterback Brock Purdy, the 49ers did come away with a win, even though it was not a clean game on either side of the ball. However, this is why it's necessary to watch the film to get a good understanding of what happened.

After review, it became clear that the 49ers didn't play nearly as poorly as it appeared from the broadcast. The rainy elements were a significant factor, and several plays were a split second away from breaking the game open.

In the end, give credit to the Green Bay Packers for having a good plan and being physical at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. It was a tough, grimy win for the 49ers on a day when they didn't play their best.
