Brock Purdy has received wisdom from numerous sources in preparation for Super Bowl 58. As the San Francisco 49ers quarterback gears up for the showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs, he's sought counsel from teammates and former NFL greats, including Bay Area legends Joe Montana and Steve Young.

Speaking to reporters at the team's hotel, the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa, Purdy shared the insights he gained from the two Hall of Fame quarterbacks.

Purdy said, "Just briefly talking to Joe, it's been just pretty simple, just in terms of you got a good team around you. Just obviously go through your reads and what [head coach] Kyle [Shanahan] is calling and trust in Kyle."

Montana's advice to Purdy centered on the idea that he doesn't need to be something different come Sunday. Instead, Purdy should lean on the qualities that have brought him to this pivotal moment and have faith in his talented supporting cast.

"And then with Steve, we just talked about our mindsets in the NFL," Purdy continued, "with all the stuff going around on the outside, being able to sink back into what you believe and understand who you are and what your purpose is.

"And then he spoke to the team, obviously, about when you have an opportunity like this, you got to take it. You can't let it slide. There's a lot of players in the NFL that don't get opportunities to go to the Super Bowl and win it. So he was like, 'You got to do what you can as a team when you have this op to take it.'"

Purdy is set to take heed of the advice from these two legendary figures as the 49ers aim to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy after Sunday's game.
