Now, with the team in Las Vegas, head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed reporters on Tuesday and suggested that his squad is in pretty good health as Sunday's game quickly approaches. Of course, that was the coach's unofficial stance based on what he has observed from his players this week. An official injury report is not required until Wednesday.
When asked if he expects full participation during Wednesday's practice at UNLV, including Kittle being out there with his teammates, Shanahan stated, "I am, but since I didn't have to give a report today, I haven't talked to the trainers yet. But I'm expecting it to be pretty positive."
This news should ease any lingering worries about the statuses of Kittle and Armstead. The 49ers have scheduled three full practices this week, with the most intense session slated for Thursday before a lighter one on Friday.
While there have been concerns about the field conditions at UNLV, Shanahan emphasized the team's readiness to adapt to what the NFL has provided for the NFC champions.
"We're not going to completely change our schedule, do something crazy," Shanahan assured reporters Monday night. "We'll deal with what we've got, and we're good."
