On Tuesday, San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Arik Armstead revealed to reporters that he sustained a torn meniscus in his right knee during the team's December 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Initially, Armstead feared his season might be over, but he managed to return for the postseason, playing through the injury.

Armstead is scheduled to undergo surgery in the coming days and hopes to recover in time to participate sometime during training camp.

Armstead recorded 11 tackles, a tackle for loss, and two quarterback hits in his three playoff appearances. Notably, he secured a sack against Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl 58.
