The San Francisco 49ers would love to find another tight end to complement George Kittle on the football field. Their attempts last year saw them draft two tight ends—Cameron Latu and Brayden Willis. However, neither saw significant playing time, with Willis logging just 48 offensive snaps, while Latu landed on injured reserve before the season began.

While head coach Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers coaches are absent, general manager John Lynch and his staff are in Indianapolis this week for the NFL Scouting Combine, evaluating prospects ahead of April's draft. Among those reported so far, three are tight ends.

According to various reports, the 49ers have spoken with Theo Johnson from Penn State, Jaheim Bell from Florida State, and Jared Wiley from TCU.

The latest reports of conversations between the 49ers and draft prospects also include several defensive backs. They are names like Sione Vaki from Utah, Calen Bullock from USC, Ennis Rakestraw Jr. from Missouri, Decamerion Richardson from Mississippi State, Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama, and Andru Phillips from Kentucky.
