"All of my interviews went well," Johnson recently told Justin Melo of The Draft Network. "Honestly, every meeting felt so different. The teams that really stood out, the ones that I felt like really liked me were the Cowboys, 49ers, Ravens, and Titans. I felt like they liked me a lot, they really liked my game."
Johnson recorded 54 catches for a career-high 715 receiving yards and six touchdowns for the Wildcats in 2023. He previously played with Arizona State and Vanderbilt.
"I really went hard this past offseason," Johnson said. "I was coming off of a down season in 2022. I was very motivated to get back on the right track. I was placed in a good situation here at Northwestern. We had a great team in my opinion. We had great weapons on offense. It didn't allow opposing defenses to key in on any one player. I felt like that allowed me to showcase the full range of my capabilities."
With the 49ers potentially seeking to enhance their receiving corps with young talent that can also contribute on special teams, Johnson's performance could put him on their radar as a possible addition.
