Former San Francisco 49ers defensive back Logan Ryan announced his retirement on social media.

"Thank you to all my family, friends and teammates for the guidance and support!" Ryan wrote. "Thanks to the fans for watching! Won 2 Super Bowls and got out happy and healthy to be the best father for my children! Thanks again for 11 seasons! Cheers to what's next."

The New England Patriots made Ryan (5-11, 195) a third-round selection (No. 83 overall) out of Rutgers in 2013. He registered 13 tackles and a tackle for a loss through five game appearances (two starts) with the 49ers this past season, per Pro Football Reference.
