Add another tight end to the list of players the San Francisco 49ers have expressed interest in. Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 reports that the team has spoken with former Kentucky tight end Brenden Bates as part of its pre-draft evaluation process.

In six years with the Wildcats, Bates hauled in 26 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns. However, he did not play during the 2019 season.

Wilson acknowledges Bates' versatility, noting that he played snaps at fullback during the Hula Bowl. San Francisco might be interested in Bates as a blocker, an area of his game that has garnered interest from NFL scouts.
