While Fischer notes that teams anticipated the schedule being released this week, the fact that it had yet to be announced made that unlikely. Additionally, there had been no hints that a release was imminent.
Last season's schedule was released on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
As fans eagerly await the dates and times for each game, hoping to plan their football year accordingly, this season's opponents have been known for some time.
During the upcoming season, San Francisco will host the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, and Kansas City Chiefs.
In addition to facing their NFC West foes on the road, the 49ers will also travel to play against the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The game against the Vikings could be an international matchup. Minnesota is scheduled to host a contest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The 49ers last played a game in the United Kingdom in 2013.
