"It's really smash-mouth football, and we gonna take it up a notch," Lenoir told Tom Pelissero, who was guest hosting the Rich Eisen Show.
Lenoir remembers facing another future Hall of Fame quarterback in 2022 when the 49ers hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14 at Levi's Stadium. While it was Brock Purdy's first career start, it was one of the final games of Tom Brady's illustrious career.
Lenoir recalls that game vividly, especially his conversation with Brady at the end.
"He let me know that he was actually watching me," Lenoir recalled. "He was scouting me and stuff, and he was just telling me to keep going. He was like, 'You're going to be a great player.' That was like a good feeling for me."
Lenoir admits he was starstruck during the conversation with the NFL legend.
"I was like, 'This is Tom Brady,'" Lenoir shared. "I've been watching him in so many Super Bowls, and just being a Tom Brady fan, it was crazy."
Lenoir is a crucial part of a 2024 49ers team aiming to carve out its own legacy this season. San Francisco is the betting favorite to once again represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. After falling short in recent years, the team is eager to get the season started.
