The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up their preseason with a 24-24 tie against the Las Vegas Raiders. Today, Pro Football Focus released its grades from the game. Which Niners stood out, and who has more work to do?

Tight end George Kittle was the highest-graded player of the game, earning a 90.3 overall grade, a 90.4 receiving grade, and an 81.5 run-blocking grade. He finished with three catches for 34 yards on four targets, including hauling in this pass from quarterback Brock Purdy.



Speaking of Purdy, the third-year quarterback earned the game's second-highest grade. Despite finishing 9-of-12 for 96 yards and an interception, which wasn't necessarily viewed as his fault, he still managed to secure a 90.1 overall grade and an 86.5 passing grade.

Jacob Cowing was one of several rookies who shined in the preseason finale. He was the highest-graded 49ers wide receiver, earning an 80.9 overall mark. Cowing recorded three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown and contributed three punt returns for 19 yards.

Deebo Samuel was the second-highest-graded wide receiver, earning a 73.8 overall grade, finishing with two catches for 32 yards.

Tight end Cameron Latu (80.8) and quarterback Tanner Mordecai (77.2) rounded out the top five on offense for the 49ers. Latu had three catches for 42 yards on three targets, including a long of 24 yards. Mordecai completed 2-of-4 passes for 59 yards as the fourth quarterback to enter the game.

As for the other 49ers quarterbacks, Josh Dobbs earned a 73.9 overall grade, completing 8-of-10 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Allen earned a 72.9 overall grade, finishing 5-of-7 for 60 yards.

Rookie guard Dominick Puni was the 49ers' highest-graded offensive lineman, earning a 77.0 overall grade. While his 50.2 pass-blocking grade shows room for improvement, he posted a solid 78.8 run-blocking grade.

Among the 49ers' offensive linemen, Jake Brendel, Ben Bartch, and Drake Nugent didn't allow any pressures. Jaylon Moore, playing for Trent Williams at left tackle, allowed three—the most by any player in the game.


Running back Isaac Guerendo didn't overly impress Pro Football Focus analysts, earning a 60.7 overall grade on offense. However, he achieved a 77.7 pass-blocking grade and contributed this impressive 93-yard return on special teams.


Second-year safety Ji'Ayir Brown was the game's highest-graded defensive player, earning an 85.9 overall grade, an 80.4 coverage grade, and a 77.2 tackling grade. He finished the game with a tackle and a forced fumble.

Defensive ends Yetur Gross-Matos and Leonard Floyd exited early with knee injuries, playing only four and six snaps, respectively. However, they still managed to earn the 49ers' highest pass-rushing grades, with Gross-Matos at 69.2 and Floyd at 67.4.

Rookie defensive tackle Evan Anderson earned a team-high three pressures in his 16 pass-rushing snaps.

Safety Tracy Walker's 83.6 tackling grade was the best of the game. He finished with four tackles.

While Brown was the highest-graded 49ers defensive back, Rock Ya-Sin earned the highest grade among 49ers cornerbacks, posting a 77.4 overall grade and a 78.4 coverage grade in his 19 snaps. However, a missed tackle lowered his tackling grade to 23.2, the second-worst mark of the game. Only safety Malik Mustapha's 23.0 tackling grade was lower.
