With the victory, Iowa State improved to 2-0, while Iowa fell to 1-1. Purdy's teammate, 49ers tight end George Kittle, is a proud Hawkeyes alum, and the two players placed their annual bet on the game's outcome. This time, Purdy came out on top.
"Yeah, we got one (a bet)," Purdy confirmed to reporters on Friday.
When asked what the wager was, he coyly replied, "You all will see."

Now, we wait to see what Kittle will have to do after finding himself on the losing side this year.
During his four seasons with the Cyclones, Purdy posted a 30-17 record, completing 67.7 percent of his passes for 12,170 yards, 81 touchdowns, and 33 interceptions. He also contributed 1,177 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns on 365 carries.
