All eyes are on Christian McCaffrey this week. The running back missed Monday night's game against the New York Jets but hopes to suit up this weekend against the Vikings. However, the 49ers are being cautious with their versatile playmaker as he recovers from a calf strain and manages Achilles tendinitis.
McCaffrey practiced for the second consecutive day but remained limited.
Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and linebacker Dee Winters, who missed Wednesday's practice, returned to the field. Both players were injured during the 49ers' preseason finale against the Las Vegas Raiders on August 23.
Thursday's practice was not a fully padded session.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Vikings, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
