49ers CB Charvarius Ward was fined $11,255 for a facemask against the Cardinals during a sideline incident in the Week 5 game. Cardinals TE Trey McBride was fined $9,545 for his part in the incident, as well. Ward did not play in Thursday night's win over the Seattle Seahawks. Rookie CB Renardo Green, playing in Ward's place, played well and intercepted a Geno Smith pass that helped seal the victory for the 49ers.
LB Dre Greenlaw was fined $14,069 for unsportsmanlike conduct for his actions on the sideline during the Cardinals game. During the play, which you can see below, Greenlaw came to the aid of his teammate and shoved McBride. The 49ers organization was fined $100,000 due to Greenlaw's actions.
Interestingly, last season, Greenlaw was involved in a sideline incident with Philadelphia Eagles' head of security, Dom DiSandro, who was removed from the sidelines after pushing Greenlaw, who then swiped at DiSandro's nose. The long-time security head for the Eagles, known as "Big Dom," was banished from the sidelines for the remainder of the season. Greenlaw was ejected from the game and was fined $10,927 for an unnecessary roughness penalty. DiSandro was fined $100,000 for his part.
