Brandon Aiyuk went down after hauling in a pass from quarterback Brock Purdy and taking a hit to the leg in Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The receiver remained down on the field before eventually limping to the sideline.

After being examined in the medical tent, Aiyuk was carted to the locker room.

The 49ers were already without wide receivers Deebo Samuel, who is battling an illness, and Jauan Jennings, who was inactive due to a hip injury. These three receivers are among the top options on the team's depth chart.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters after the game, expressing concern that Brandon Aiyuk may have suffered a torn ACL. However, this has not been confirmed yet. If news regarding the injury isn't revealed before then, an update will likely come on Monday when Shanahan addresses the media again.

"That's what it looks like (a torn ACL), but we don't know for sure," Shanahan said. "Just doing the test and everything with our hands, and with the trainers and stuff, all that. That's what we fear, that's what it looks like, but we've been wrong before, so we're praying that we are."

If that ends up being the case, Aiyuk's season would be over. Shanahan added that he hopes to get wide receiver Jauan Jennings back this week. Jennings missed the game against the Chiefs due to a hip injury.
