San Francisco 49ers running back Isaac Guerendo has been nominated for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week award after an impressive performance in the 49ers' 30-24 Week 8 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The rookie rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on Sunday night, once again showcasing his potential in a breakout game.

Guerendo previously rushed for 99 yards on 10 carries in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks, highlighted by a 76-yard run late in the game.

"He did a hell of a job in the game (against the Cowboys), and I think he's only going to get better," fellow rookie teammate Dominick Puni, a guard, said during a Tuesday morning radio interview. "We love blocking for him, though. ... I think the more reps he gets and the more he learns the offense—I mean, the more opportunity someone gets, you either rise or fall, and I think he's rising right now."

Guerendo has accumulated 227 rushing yards this season, averaging an impressive 6.1 yards per carry. Notably, 111 of his total rushing yards have come after contact.

The other nominees for the award are quarterback Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders, quarterback Bo Nix of the Denver Broncos, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. of the Arizona Cardinals, wide receiver Ladd McConkey of the Los Angeles Chargers, and running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. of the New York Giants.

San Francisco made Guerendo a fourth-round draft pick out of Louisville in April. He has played 93 offensive snaps and 86 special teams snaps this season.

The last 49ers player to earn the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week honor was quarterback Brock Purdy, who won the award twice during the 2022 season.
