The San Francisco 49ers announced they have waived running back Patrick Taylor Jr. The move comes as the team prepares to activate Christian McCaffrey off injured reserve on Saturday, making him eligible to play on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

McCaffrey is officially listed as questionable for the Week 10 matchup.

"We'll take him off IR tomorrow, and then he'll be good to go unless something crazy happens on this plane ride," head coach Kyle Shanahan said. "He should be good to go tomorrow once he gets off IR."

The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown on Taylor.

Taylor Jr. (6-2, 217) originally signed with the team on April 8, 2024, and appeared in eight games. He registered seven carries for 25 yards and tallied one reception for 12 yards.
