Earlier this season, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle wore an Iowa State helmet while speaking to reporters after losing a bet to quarterback Brock Purdy, whose alma mater defeated Kittle's Iowa Hawkeyes. On Thursday, Kittle was spotted wearing another team's helmet—this time from UCLA—after the Bruins defeated Iowa 20-17 last week.

"I'm just a big Bruins fan this week," Kittle joked with reporters in the locker room. "Yeah, no, the Hawks did not get it done against UCLA, so both [C Jake] Brendel and one of our equipment managers put me up to this one."

Reflecting on the experience, Kittle admitted, "This feels better than Iowa State, though, I will say. Significantly better."

Kittle was a part of Iowa's football program from 2012 to 2016 under head coach Kirk Ferentz. This year, UCLA joined the Big Ten, shifting from its previous home in the Pac-12 conference.
