The San Francisco 49ers entered Sunday night's matchup against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium without several key players. Defensive end Nick Bosa, cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, and tackle Trent Williams were among seven players listed as inactive for the prime-time showdown.

Below are the latest in-game injury updates for the 49ers.

RB Christian McCaffrey (knee, out)


The 49ers announced that running back Christian McCaffrey is questionable to return after suffering a knee injury. McCaffrey left the game in the second quarter, was evaluated in the medical tent, and then headed to the locker room.

Update: During a televised interview at the start of the second half, head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that McCaffrey would not return to the game.


The injury occurred in the play below. McCaffrey missed the first eight games of the season with Achilles tendinitis.


DT Kevin Givens (chest, out)


The 49ers announced that defensive lineman Kevin Givens, who returned from a groin injury, is now questionable to return to the game after sustaining a chest injury.

Update: The 49ers have ruled Givens out.

LB Fred Warner (cramps, questionable)


Linebacker Fred Warner experienced cramping and was announced as questionable to return.

Update: Warner returned to the game.


RB Jordan Mason (head, returned)


Jordan Mason was evaluated for a concussion and cleared to return.
