The Cleveland Browns have announced that they will host a game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London during the 2025 season, part of the NFL's slate of eight international games—the most ever in a single season.

Could the San Francisco 49ers be heading overseas as part of this matchup? It's a possibility. Head coach Kyle Shanahan's squad is scheduled to face the Browns on the road during the upcoming season, making them a potential opponent for the newly announced London game.

In addition to the 49ers, the Browns are slated to host the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, and Minnesota Vikings.

However, the NFL is unlikely to schedule division matchups overseas, which may rule out the Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers as options for the London game.

If the 49ers don't face the Browns overseas, another international matchup could be on the horizon. The Indianapolis Colts will host a game in Berlin, marking the league's first-ever regular-season game in the German capital. The 49ers could be a potential opponent for that historic contest.

Any international trip for the 49ers would likely follow an East Coast road game to minimize travel demands. Additionally, the NFL could schedule the team's bye week immediately after the trip, allowing players ample time to recover from the lengthy journey.

While the 2025 opponents for every team are already known, the NFL won't release the full schedule with dates and times until May. However, announcements regarding the league's international games, including the opponents for the hosting teams, may come earlier.
