Season ticket holders have started receiving their tickets for the upcoming season. Many are reporting that, unlike previous years where tickets would arrive in very nice 49ers themed packaging, their packages only included the tickets themselves with no special frills for those willing to pay the extra cost and commit to the entire year.

In previous years, tickets were accompanied by extras such as DVD's, reading material, stickers, and more. They were also packaged in very nice 49ers themed boxes. It is interesting that no such packaging accompanied this year's batch given the big changes in San Francisco with a new coach and new uniforms.

One 49erswebzone.com member, a season ticket holder for years who spent over $5,000 this year in tickets, states that the tickets did not come in any box and goes on to say "3 of the tickets have an ad on them, Bud Light, Breathe Right and Samsung. They came Priority Mail, USPS. Mine were crammed in my mail box and some of my tickets are bent ... no DVD no stickers no nothing."

Not immune to the horrible economy, the NFL and certain NFL organizations have been looking to cut back on costs. While not officially blamed on the economy, the 49ers have made such moves as telling team employees to take over a week off in early July and reducing the number of open Training Camp practices to 4 this season. Last year, there were 10 sessions open to the public.

One has to wonder what other cost-cutting moves the team will make this season.
