Mike Singletary's days may be numbered.

The San Francisco 49ers went into San Diego with high hopes of finishing the season strong. While still in the playoff hunt, the 49ers fell flat. The Chargers beat up on the 49ers 34-7 as San Francisco could not get anything going all night.

After a great performance last week against the Seahawks, 49ers quarterback Alex Smith was 19 of 29 for 165 yards and an interception.

The 49ers' running backs combined for 55 yards and a touchdown.

It was an embarrassing loss for head coach Mike Singletary and Alex Smith who are not only fighting for a playoff spot, but are likely fighting for their jobs.

On Sunday, December 26, the 49ers will travel to St. Louis to take on the NFC West leaders at the Edward Jones Dome.
