NFL team owners arrived in Atlanta, Georgia this morning and are expected to be reviewing the potential new CBA. Owners are expected to vote on the settlement on Thursday.
Yesterday, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reported on his Twitter (@mattbarrows) that the San Francisco 49ers are telling their medical staff to get ready to begin examining players Sunday.
Teams are preparing for a fast and furious free agency period which will likely begin sometime next week and could span only a few days.
UPDATE
A number of players have left the Washington D.C. meeting without a vote taking place. However, it is still possible that a vote could take place remotely, via conference calls, later today.
However, the majority of the players remain in the meeting.
The owners still remain in their meeting in Atlanta, where certain aspects of the settlement could be tweaked. NFL Network states that it looks as though the owners are ready to sign off on the new deal.
While there is no representation by the San Francisco 49ers at the owners meeting today, additional owners are expected to fly in tonight and tomorrow morning.
UPDATE 2
After brief statements by a small number of players, it does not look as though there will be a vote by the players on the new settlement today. The players stated that they do not have enough information or a fully completed document.
However, there are reports that there was a conditional vote today. Meaning, that if certain conditions of the settlement are met, the committee has the players' ok.
