Fresh from the Twitterverse. Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area and Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee are reporting that the bidding for safety Dashon Goldson is between the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders.

Maiocco even goes on to say, "49ers are fully prepared to pay to keep S Dashon Goldson. They'll go higher to sign him than any of their defensive free agents."

Apparently Goldson is more important to the team than linebacker Takeo Spikes, who agreed to terms with the San Diego Chargers today.

Maiocco also states that the team is prepared to lose nose-tackle Aubrayo Franklin and linebacker Manny Lawson.

The team also agreed to a one-year, $5 million deal with quarterback Alex Smith.

On the Aubrayo Franklin front, Barrows tweets, "Redskins reportedly agree to terms on DT Barry Cofield. They were expected to be Aubrayo Franklin's most ardent suitor."
